But, fear not sheeple, you never know what YTB/ZamZuu will do and they are passing along the suggestion about labeling the product. I am wondering if it might even be illegal to sell a non-labeled product? Nah, YTB/ZamZuu would never do something like that.
Explore the reasons why the infusion of Multi Level Marketing firms is harming the travel industry and consumers alike.

Don't Worry What's In The KoolAid Coffee, Just Drink It
This is great. YTB /ZamZuu is selling coffee now. Everyone is a barista! One thing they neglected it seems--labeling the KoolAid Coffee. So, let me get this straight, people order some coffee and their "exclusive to YTB/ZamZuu" coffee comes in a plain silver packet?
But, fear not sheeple, you never know what YTB/ZamZuu will do and they are passing along the suggestion about labeling the product. I am wondering if it might even be illegal to sell a non-labeled product? Nah, YTB/ZamZuu would never do something like that.

YTB/Zam Zuu Convention Tips
Just a thought here. If you are unable to afford to eat while at a business convention, perhaps you should not go. I also wonder what the St. Louis CVB thinks of this advice?
Considering it is coming from a "travel" company, one might think that they would be cognizant of the fact local merchants that sell breakfast and lunch depend on the tourists and convention business for their survival. But then again, as long at the $49.95 monthly check clears, full steam ahead.
Other tips in this update included carpooling, sharing hotel rooms, and of course sending your money into YTB.

3. Bring breakfast and lunch with you.
There are many area eateries that are affordable in downtown St. Louis, but they can take precious time with the crowd of Convention. Plus, why leave the America’s Center for too long when there’s so much going on at the ZamZuu Convention! Bring your Ganovia Instant Coffee, grab a breakfast bar, and get a jump on exploring everything there is in ZamZuu! Plus, what’s better than a homemade PB & J for lunch? (In fact, that’s what this author does and has done for the last 4 Conventions!) There are quite a few places within walking distance from the America’s Center to enjoy a nice lunch downtown from the arch grounds to the City Garden or even Kiener plaza. Bringing breakfast and lunch is easy, and that leaves more in the budget for that great ZamZuu polo you’ve got your eye on and a fabulous dinner at a great downtown restaurant.

YTB Zam Zuu Rolls The Dice
In an attempt to prop up their declining stock value, YTB is proposing a 1:100 reverse stock split at the upcoming annual Shareholder's Meeting.
So, what does a reverse split mean? If you own 100 shares, you now own 1 share. YTB is seeking approval from the shareholders to do this split. But the approval will not trigger the split. That is triggered when the company executives decide to trigger it. They just want approval to do so when (and if) they feel it is the right time.
The reasoning YTB gives for this is that many investors are forbidden to bid or buy stocks that are trading as low as YTB's stocks are trading because they are very risky. It is their hope that by reducing the number of shares, that the stock price will actually increase and attract a whole new audience of investors looking to invest in YTB. Of course, the opposite is also true.
Since it seems that YTB Zam Zuu is back to their old games with income claims, travel perks and bonuses, it is quite possible that there will be another investigation which will take the stock even lower. Other events can also happen that will drive the stock lower including continued dismal financial performances, additional lawsuits or settlements, or the refusal of having the Class Action suite thrown out.
It's a risk for sure, but with the strange deal they made for the Headquarters building to avert another lawsuit and repossession from FH Partners, they need to do something to get some money in the door.
In separate filings, Coach, Scott and Kim all forfeited stock award bonuses for the second year in a row due to the dismal financial performance of the company.

YTb Zam Zuu Breaks Records
It took a few weeks after the California settlement to get back to normal, but now that YTB Zam Zuu has settled the lawsuit with the Illinois Attorney General, it is business as usual within a week!!!
Oh, and that little settlement agreement with all those pesky rules and regulations....don't worry about that.
How many violations can you count in one paragraph?

Hometown Paper Says YTB Is Out Of Travel Business
From the local media in Wood River, it seems that YTB is giving up on the travel business:
And this certainly does not sound like a company on the upswing.
YTB is now in the business of selling items at retail via the Internet. It once operated a nationwide travel sales company, which critics called "a giant pyramid scheme."But don't tell any of the people that are sending in $49.95 a month, YTB needs the money!
And this certainly does not sound like a company on the upswing.
Most of the top officials of the company have left. It has sold its former headquarters building in Edwardsville and its building in Wood River. The company now leases a small space in its former sprawling location in Wood River.

YTB/Zam Zuu Fined $150,000 By Illinois Attorney General
Rather risk going to court, YTB/Zam Zuu has once again agreed to settle a case against them filed by a state's Attorney General.
In California, they agreed to pay $1 million in response to then-Attorney General Jerry Brown's assertion that they were operating an endless chain scheme. Yesterday, the St. Louis Business Journal reported that they did the same thing for Illinois, which charged them with deceptive business practices.
YTB/Zam Zuu has always operated on the fringe of legality, with many of their representatives stepping over the line, and have essentially admitted so in their SEC filings when they state that they believe their operation is operating legally, but cannot guarantee it.
Like California, there are a series of requirements imposed on YTB/Zam Zuu to go along with the $150,000 fine. From the St. Louis Business Journal:
The article also refers to YTB/Zam Zuu as a "a one-time multilevel marketer of travel agent Web sites" which indicates, as we have shown here, that YTB/Zam Zuu is indeed making a decided shift away from travel. Additionally, the article states that YTB/Zam Zuu had changed its business model (presumably the one that was registered with every Attorney General and was guaranteed to never change due to a Bill of Rights) several times in order to come into compliance with the settlement.

Other parts of the decree calls for YTB to:
- make certain disclosures, including information regarding recent compensation,
- if representations are made regarding income, compensation or lifestyle enjoyed by a website owner or website distributor;
- clearly and conspicuously disclose all terms and conditions associated with all products and services offered for sale on all of its websites, including cost, contract terms, automatic renewal provisions, and how to cancel plans or other contracts.
- provide the Illinois attorney general's office quarterly copies of all marketing, promotional and informational materials disseminated to consumers, potential customers, reps, website owners and website distributors, and samples of all agreements between those entities and the company.

Marketing Advice For YTB Zam Zuu Reps
From Circle of Champions member Julieta St. John comes the following advice. Actually the statistics are accurate from what I have heard, but 30 contacts seems a bit much to me. But then again, maybe that is what it takes to be one of Coach's 10,000 millionaires. But follow this advice and you will become rich--or more likely friendless. Remember never stop pitching YTB and ZamZuu until they buy or die!
Read this and then think about how many prospects you have missed out on...
Ask Again, and Again, and Again
As business owners, we can never be good enough at following up with prospects.Refuse to complain about failure until you have a multi-step follow up sequence of 7 to 30 contacts (email, mail, telephone, etc) with everyone who comes into contact with your business as a potential broker.
When people do this, they tend to make more money from increased sales; they just shrug off the "no's" and stop talking about it.
As business owners, we cannot afford to make the big, costly mistake of not following up with a prospect.
Check out these scary statistics:
48% of sales people never follow up with a prospect.
25% of sales people make a second contact and stop.
12% of sales people only make three contacts and stop.
Only, 10% of businesses make more than three contacts. This means they're losing a small fortune.
Because...
2% of sales are made on the first contact.
3% of sales are made on the second contact.
5% of sales are made on the third contact.
10% of sales are made on the fourth contact.
80% of sales are made on the fifth to twelfth contact. Now MAKE SURE you are giving your prospects NEW information every time you follow up - a new testimonial, benefits of owning a home-based business, a great deal on your website, etc.DON'T just keep asking them if they have their money - if they have not made a decision, you need to keep "dripping" on them with new information.
The golden rule in marketing that will make you wealthy is once you have someone's details keep on following up until they buy, die, or tell you to stop!

YTB Zam Zuu Would Not Lie Would They?
The other day, we highlighted a few of the claims that YTB Zam Zuu was making regarding the new Zam Zuu Reps. I thought that history has a way of repeating itself--remember the special website they had saying that Roger Staubach was a member? Well, right from Joel Osteen---no way. They are not affiliated and will be asking YTB to remove the pages!

Used in Chinese medicine for nearly 4,000 years, this "Super Food" is full of powerful antioxidants. It's also high in protein and contains high levels of Vitamins C, A, E and B. In fact, goji berries contain more iron than spinach and more beta carotene than carrots. In China, this is known as their super energizing herb, and one can certainly see why!
About the Ganoderma Mushroom
Known as the miraculous king of herbs, the ganoderma mushroom has been used for centuries to promote health and longevity. Containing hundreds of antioxidants, this "Super Food" is held in high regard in the Orient. Japan and China use this extract as a licensed medical treatment. This extract helps to promote a natural immune system to maintain balance in the body.
About Cordyceps
Some consider this to be the ultimate "Super Food" and is known for having restorative and energizing properties. In fact, this food can be found today in the pharmaceutical industry, supplement manufacturing, and as a food additive. It's extremely high in beta-glucans, which helps to support proper oxygen levels in the body. By maintaining an oxygen-rich environment, your body is better armed to ward off disease.
Really Now?
YTB/Zam Zuu seems to be up to their old tricks again. Maybe they are thinking everyone forgot what got them in trouble the last time.
Here is a facebook page (shortly to be removed I am sure) claiming that Robert Johnson, Founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET); Joel Osteen televangelist and the Lakewood Church pastor and TD Jakes, another pastor at a mega church, are all ZamZuu representatives.
It is a good thing that Robert Johnson's close friend, BET Board Member, and General Counsel for BET live in my home town. This will be an easy verification!
Paging Dr. Seligman.

And here is another page making the same claim, but it seems like these guys actually produced a brochure:
When you see "marketing" like this, it makes one wonder why the company cannot stand on its product or its own leadership.
I guess that whole, if it's not right don't do it...if it's not true don't say it doesn't apply any longer and has been replaced (once again) by "say what you need to just make sure you recruit someone."
Paging Dr. Seligman.
